Al-Dabbagh: Our National Football Team meets Football Stars of Europe Monday and Zeineddin Zidan sends a letter of support

Date: December 21st, 2008

 

 The Spokesman of the Iraqi Government, Ali Al Dabbagh, announced that the Iraqi National Football Team will meet Football Stars (Messengers of Peace) from around the world in a friendly and charitable match to support Peace in Iraq. Part of the proceeds from this match will be given to support Iraqi Children. The match has been organized by the International Peace Organization which is due to be held in Milan on Monday 22nd December, 2008 at 8.30 pm local time in Italy. The match will be live on several TV channels.

 

Al Dabbagh also confirmed that a signing ceremony will be held for “Football and Peace” Agreement in which members of the Iraqi National Team and the International Players, which will then be presented to the Iraqi People in a gesture of solidarity with them.

 

Al Dabbagh added that an invitation was extended to the international star Zeineddin Zidan by the Iraqi Government Spokesman; and in a telephone conversation between them, Mr. Zidan thanked him for the invitation and sent the attached letter of support for Peace around the world and in Iraq in particular.
